The Bridge Street multi-storey car park in Stafford town centre remains shut.
It was closed to the public on Friday after a routine inspection by engineers revealed potential danger from structural problems.
Stafford Borough Council spokesman Will Conaghan said that no dates had yet been set for when further detailed tests would be carried out on the four-storey car park over the former Tesco store.
The 25-year-old, 466-space car park alongside the River Sow was already earmarked for closure as part of the stalled multi-million pound Riverside development.
