Sections of a bus route in Walsall have been axed - leading to protests that elderly passengers will find their nearest bus stops out of reach.
Sections of a bus route in Walsall have been axed - leading to protests that elderly passengers will find their nearest bus stops out of reach.
Residents of the Forest Estate have now launched a campaign calling for the full route of the 328 service to be reinstated.
Choice Travel, which operates the service, said sections of the route were under-used and not commercially viable.
Chestnut Road, Hawbush Road and Oak Crescent are now missing from the service, which runs from Walsall to Bloxwich.
Blakenall's Councillor Pete Smith said: "I have already been contacted by some older residents, who will find the walk to the nearest bus stop too far.
"Forest Estate residents will have to walk uphill to the main Bloxwich Road or to Harden Road, which will be a step too far for some.
Councillor Smith addec he had voiced his concerns to Choice Travel and Centro.
Tim Jeffcoat, bus network manager for Choice Travel, said: "We took the service over from A2Z Travel when it went out of business in April.
"We have run it for some time, but our records show there was not very much usage from the Forest Estate."
