Hundreds queue for V Festival jobs
Hundreds of people today applied for sought-after bar work at a popular music festival near Wolverhampton.

City of Wolverhampton College held an open day at Newhampton Arts Centre today for those who had registered an interest in serving thousands of fans at the V Festival, in Weston Park, on August 22-23.
Applicants were asked to contact Jobcentre Plus to book a slot, but many turned up unannounced in the hope of landing a job at the West Midlands' biggest summer event
Places were being allocated by Flair Event Staffing, one of the companies contracted by the festival organisers.
A temporary job at V Festival 2009 guarantees free entry, staff camping and meal tickets.
Organisers said they were delighted with today's response. City of Wolverhampton College spokeswoman Katie Swann said up to 400 people were expected throughout the session, which was due to end at 4pm.
Other festival work being filled by other staffing companies include security and stewarding, cleaning and litter, and traffic marshalling.
