Park security sparks anger
Residents who have been campaigning for years to have Cannock Park locked up at night are enraged they were not informed that a survey about the future of its security was taking place.

Philip Rainsbury, who lives near to the park says there has been criminal damage, sex and under-age drinking taking place at the park after dark.
He has written to the police and Cannock Chase Council on numerous occasions about the anti-social behaviour.
Mr Rainsbury said he, as well as members of Friends of Cannock Park, were angry they were not informed about the council's survey over whether the park should be locked at night.
Street wardens are now posting survey cards on Old Penkridge Road, Stafford Road, Park Road and Bishop Close.
Mr Rainsbury also raised concerns that the survey could be biased.
He said: "We had no knowledge of it before reading it in the press. My contention is that it is right unfair.
"I know how influential a tiny number of people have been securing an open park policy in the first place which doesn't represent the view of the public at large."
He also claims the council is in breach of an agreement to replace the park gates which were ripped down by vandals. The gates preventing vehicle access to the park were replaced but the pedestrian gates never were.
He said: "Even today many of the councillors believed all the gates had been replaced. In consequence, it has meant the council has kept the park open because you can't lock the gates."
Councillor John Jillings said: "The consultation exercise is open and transparent and is targeted at those who live near the park and to a number of other park users. Friends of Cannock Park members have been included in the consultation."
