Two local teenagers have been quizzed in connection with the brutal deaths of ducklings at a Stafford school.
The boys, both from Stafford, were arrested and interviewed over the incident at Marshlands Primary School which saw six of the ducklings killed and another seven go missing.
The birds had been nesting in a courtyard in the middle of the Lansdowne Way school with their mother, who was not harmed during the incident overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday last week.
The teenagers were arrested on Friday and released on police bail after being interviewed by both police officers and the RSPCA.
Inquiries are continuing and police today issued a renewed appeal for anyone with information on the incident to come forward.
Pc Steve Thornton, of Stafford Neighbourhood Policing Unit, is leading the inquiry.
He said: "There has been a helpful response from the local community in response to our appeals for information.
"However, I believe that a member of the local community has still to come forward with information which is crucial to solving this crime. I would urge anyone with any information to contact me on 0300 1234455 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."
