Faulty patio heaters which could explode were among £7,000 worth of stock stolen during a burglary near Kidderminster.

Police have warned people attending car boot sales or buying goods on the Internet to beware of cheap heaters.

The 24 silver Landmann electric patio heaters, worth a total of £924, were stolen from a warehouse in Cursley Lane, Shenstone. Also taken were 56 Landmann gas patio heaters, worth £2,596 in total and children's garden chair sets, worth £3,500.

The goods were stolen between 5pm on May 6 and 11.30pm on May 7.

PC Lee Hanson said: "The silver patio heaters were faulty and were not going to be sold. There is concern that they could explode or may not work."
