Hu and Beatrice Jones hope that as many local people as possible will give a donation to the Moira Fund – a special charity they have set up to help the relatives of other murder victims.

The Weston couple have only just returned home from Scotland after sitting through the trial of the "evil and depraved" man who ambushed and brutally killed 40-year-old Moira.

Slovakian national Marek Harcar, aged 33, denied the crime, forcing Hu and Beatrice to listen to harrowing details of their daughter's death during a court case in Glasgow, where Moira was working as a top sales professional.

Harcar, who had a history of violence, was convicted unanimously by jurors last week and sentenced to life.

Now, Hu and Beatrice want to salvage some good from their daughter's tragic death by helping other families going through the same agony they have suffered. They have set to work straight away on setting up the Moira Fund in tribute to their popular high-flying daughter, who excelled in everything she did.

The couple are hoping that anyone who knew them or their daughter may want to remember her by looking up their website – www.themoirafund.org.uk – and considering making a donation. It will be used to help the relatives of murder victims across Britain get specialist counselling, access support networks and try to find peace in a short break or retreat.

Beatrice told the Express & Star: "I know that people want to help us but they don't know how to help us.
