The hard work and diligence of members of Cannock division of St John Ambulance were celebrated at an awards evening.
Tony Wright MP and St John Ambulance's County Commissioner, Brian Claire helped to present the certificates and rewards at the division's annual awards ceremony at the Davey Unit in Cannock Chase Hospital.
The event was also attended by the Vice President of Cannock St John Ambulance, Joe Edwards.
Both cadets and adult members of the organisations were given awards. These ranged from fundraising and membership awards through to the Grand Prior award, which was presented to 16-year-old Rachael Taylor who had to successfully complete 12 subjects which cover first aid, community work and pet care. Superintendent of Cannock division, Wendy Hayward said: "I am proud of the hard work done by all of the cadets and adult members, especially Rachael to achieve the Grand Prior award.
"They all put a lot of work in and deserve the awards that they have got."
She added that new members were always welcome and the division meets every Thursday at the Davey Unit. The cadets meet 6.30pm-8.30pm while adults meet 8pm-10pm. St John's also run a Badger unit on a Tuesday night for children aged from five to ten. For more information call Mrs Hayward on 01543 675599.
