A fraudster from Bloxwich who scammed doctors for emergency prescriptions to feed her addiction to painkillers could face jail, she has been warned.

Angela Sargent aged 37, of Ryle Street, went under the name Angela Morris to fraudulently claim numerous prescriptions.

She appeared at Walsall Magistrates Court yesterday where she pleaded guilty to three charges of fraud by false representation. She also asked for three other similar matters to be taken into consideration by the magistrates

It is the second time the 37-year-old has been convicted of fraudulently claiming painkillers following a similar incident in 2006 where she was handed an 18 month supervision order.

Mr Jason Corden-Bowen, prosecuting, said Sargent was addicted to the pain killer Tramadol and had an 18 tablet a day addiction.

The case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report. Magistrates have told her she could face jail.
