The accident happened at the Oak Apple Public House near London Road, Worcester, yesterday lunchtime.

Two cars were involved in a collision before one of the vehicles, driven by a man believed to be in his 70s, careered through the pub fence.

Fortunately there were no customers in the beer garden at the time of the accident.

Two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle rushed to the crash scene.

The man was taken to Worcester Royal Hospital for further treatment while the woman and man in the second car were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, John Hawker, said one was immobilised using a spinal board and neck collar.

Pub staff said they could not comment on the damage.
