A tile company today announced it is opening a new branch on a site in Kidderminster, creating four full time jobs.

Tile Choice will open on the £6 million Easter Park business park development on the outskirts of Kidderminster.

The branch will open during the week beginning March 9.

The move supports suggestions that people are choosing to renovate their existing homes rather than move to new properties during the economic gloom.

The company has branches in Shrewsbury, Bilston, West Bromwich, Walsall, Cannock, Perry Barr, Heartlands and Bromsgrove and the move is part of expansion plans.

Financial director David O'Connell described the move as "a unique opportunity to continue to expand".

The tile company is the third to take space at Easter Park. Last year both Screwfix and Hollingworth of Ombersley Ltd moved onto the development and agents hope that eventually the nine units will support around 200 jobs. Screwfix created 20 jobs and Hollingworth moved 17 staff to the park and its car workshops.

Andrew Cosnett, a partner of Cosnett Price joint letting agents for Easter Park, said: "It is in a prime place."

Lance Turner, of joint letting agents Harris Lambs' Worcester office, said other businesses had shown interest in the further five units on the site.
