An extra £2.12 million is to be spent improving roads around the Wyre Forest district and elsewhere in Worcestershire.
The money will be spent on drainage, resurfacing and bridge maintenance. The Government has announced Worcestershire County Council will receive the cash in the financial year for 2010-11
The announcement follows last year's input of £15m for the council to catch up on a backlog of road maintenance. Council officials blamed much of the problem on bad weather and serious flooding during the past few years.
Much of the previous allocation has been earmarked for road resurfacing schemes in towns including Kidderminster, Stourport and Bewdley. Councillors are now hoping the extra £2.12m will allow them to concentrate some attention on repairs to rural roads.
