St John volunteer honoured
A Stafford man who joined St John Ambulance when he was just nine years old has been honoured for putting in more than 50 years service.

Volunteer Peter Bennion first joined St John's Juniors as a schoolboy in October 1950.
He became a fully-fledged member when he received his first aid qualification 57 years ago this month in February 1952 and went on to be a founding member of the Stafford division, becoming its divisional superintendent and playing a big part in its formation.
Mr Bennion, aged 67, is now a trainer for St John Ambulance.
He was recently presented with a special certificate at the charity's annual pre-conference dinner.
Reflecting on his time with St John Ambulance, Peter said: "There are too many memorable experiences to mention but covering the London Marathon was certainly interesting!"
