Major award for dedicated bus driver
A shuttle bus driver who often saves the day for workers at Cannock and Stafford's hospitals has been recognised with a special staff award.

Major Sturgess delivers important parcels, samples and patient records between the two sites on a daily basis. He also ferries staff who work for the managing Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust to and from the two facilities.
Receptionist Helen Falco, who nominated Major for the staff award, said: "Nothing is too much trouble for Major. I think a lot of people forget what an important job he does. He often saves the day and it's always with a smile."
Major, who has worked at the trust for four-and-a-half years, said: "It was a lovely surprise to receive the award, I really didn't expect it. I enjoy my job and always try to help out as much as possible. It's just in my nature and it's nice to know that people think I have been doing a good job."
Meanwhile, Stafford Hospital's 30-person estates team won a joint award for their dedication. As well as performing general maintenance tasks around the hospital, the team also work "tirelessly" behind the scenes in plant rooms to keep the hospital running as smooth as possible, according to the trust.
Head of facilities Louise Kiely, who nominated the team, said: "Over the years the team has helped numerous members of the public and staff who have been confused, lost or just in need of general assistance, be it help starting or pushing their cars at all hours or giving professional advice and home DIY tips, all with a smile and a giggle."
