A controversial second application for a new Tesco superstore at Stourport, which would create more than 150 jobs, has been submitted to council planners.

Tesco Supermarkets and council planners are about to battle it out over previous plans for a new store, petrol station and car parking which were submitted earlier this year.

The Co-op in the town has called for a judicial review claiming the decision and process to grant permission for a new store in the town was flawed.

The case is expected to be heard February or March.

Wyre Forest Council granted permission for the initial outline plans earlier this year but the Co-op claims that not all the issues were fully considered.

Now planners are being asked to consider a second application for outline planning permission for a store, petrol station and parking.
