A thief broke into a locker at a leisure centre in Kidderminster and stole a wallet, phone and keys which he later used to drive away a Vauxhall Astra belonging to a man who was at his son's swimming party.

Police today appealed for anyone who saw the offender who broke into the locker at Wyre Forest Glades Leisure Centre at about 6.30pm on Saturday to come forward.

The thief is believed to be a white man, in his 30s or early 40s, slim, and was wearing blue jeans and a black jacket.

He had dark hair, and tattoos on his wrist.

Footage from surveillance cameras in the car park shows a dark-coloured car pulling up next to the Astra just before it was stolen.

It also shows the thief walking onto the car park carrying a white bag and passing a man who had a child with him

Pc Kayley Perks said: "We would very much like to speak to people who were in the dark-coloured car and the man with the child as they may have important information which could help our investigation.

"We would also like to speak to anyone who was at the leisure centre or in that area at the time who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously or to people knowing the whereabouts of the car, registration BN55 YUU.

"The victim was at his son's swimming party when his car was stolen.

"It spoiled the celebration for all the family, and his son was very upset by what had happened."
