Bostin alphabet is easy as ABC
The alphabet has been given a "bostin" twist by three friends who have created their own version inspired by the Black Country dialect.
The alphabet has been given a "bostin" twist by three friends who have created their own version inspired by the Black Country dialect.
Stephen Pitts, Warren Smith, both aged 28, and Mikey Beasley, 18, have penned their own song based on the A to Z.
It took the three pals, who run Cradley Heath-based business Black Country TeeT Shirts, two weeks to come up with the new alphabet.
They have even filmed a video to go with The Black Country Alphabet Song, which has been put on their page on networking website Facebook and has already attracted a lot of viewers.
The alphabet includes phrases such as Ow am ya? and Tara a Bit as well as words such as Oss, Mucker and Yampy.
Stephen, who lives in Cradley Heath, said: "We made it into a song and filmed a video. We put it on the internet and the response has been more than we expected." TeeT Shirts was founded by Stephen and Warren last year and the company is now known across the globe. The friends run an internet site, www.teetshirts.com, and have a shop in Reddal Hill Road. Earlier this year they made two shirts marking West Bromwich Albion's promotion to the Premiership.
And in 2007, they made a special souvenir T-shirt of a whirlwind which wrecked Black Country homes and gardens. While most of the words in the Black Country A-Z are familiar, for the uninitiated here are some translations. Council pop is water, Donnies are hands, Kaylyed is drunk, Riffy is dirty and Suck is sweets.
