Protesters fighting to save Kidderminster Driving Test Centre from closure are preparing to take their fight to Downing Street after failing to persuade officials to change their minds.
About 20 campaigners travelled by coach to Nottingham yesterday to hand a petition to the Driving Standards Agency objecting to the proposals to close the centre and transfer tests to Lower Gornal.
But Rosemary Thew, chief executive of the DSA, said they had not convinced her about the need to retain the centre.
Today protesters refused to abandon their fight and said they would take it direct to Downing Street and Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
The DSA announced it was to close the centre earlier this year after officials said it was outdated and would be too costly to refurbish.
Although the DSA granted a six-month reprieve for the centre, time is running out and it is now expected to close in February.
