Work costing £42,000 is to be carried out to prevent flash flooding in a village near Stourport.

Villagers at Abberley called for action after complaining that drains and gulleys in the village were unable to cope during torrential downpours.

Work to solve the problem is expected to start early in the New Year. Highways chiefs say they intend to carry out drainage and footpath repairs costing £42,000. They plan to install 18 new gulleys.
