There has been a leadership swap within Wyre Forest District Council's Liberal Group.

Greenhill councillor Paul Harrison will step up into the role of group leader with councillor Fran Oborski moving from leader to the deputy group leader role.

It is part of the party's preparations for the Worcestershire County Council elections to be held on June 4 next year.

Councillor Oborski said the move would allow her to spend more time on the strategic role of co-ordinating the Liberal Party's County Council campaign in partnership with the Liberal Democrats.

She said: "There are only 24 hours in a day and as we move towards what is going to be a vital election for the people of Worcestershire we, as a group, need to maximise the use of all the talents available in order to take full advantage of the opportunities posed by the elections."
