Hoax calls to fire crews

Fire crews in Worcestershire received 38 hoax calls in the second quarter of the year compared with 49 during the first three months, a report says.

The report shows the number of false call-outs is not dropping as much as expected. Officials estimate that they will have received more than 165 hoax calls by the end of the year.

The findings of the report will be discussed by members of Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Authority best value policy and performance committee on Friday.
