A last-minute appeal has been made to save two Wyre Forest post offices.

Wyre Forest MP Dr Richard Taylor is seeking "a stay of execution" on the closure of the post offices at Comberton Hill at Kidderminster and the one at The Walshes in Stourport and has claimed the consultations process was "flawed".

Both branches are due to close on November 27 but Dr Taylor claims the postal service watchdog Postwatch had not received the letters of objection from businesses and residents during the consultation period.

Dr Taylor has now written to Work and Pensions Secretary James Purnell calling for an investigation.

He said: "We want to prove the consultation was not carried out properly and that people's views were not properly taken into account.

Wyre Forest council boss councillor John Campion said he is supporting Dr Taylor to get the closure decisions overturned.
