Campaigners trying to keep a driving test centre in Kidderminster are to hold crisis talks with officials.

They will meet Rosemary Thew, chief executive of the Driving Standards Agency, on December 8.

They want to retain a centre in the Kidderminster area and want a test area for cars and motorcycles in the Wyre Forest district.

Protesters now plan to deliver a report to Mrs Thew detailing the consequences of the proposed closure of the centre in Castle Road.

They say drivers will have to pay more and travel further for lessons and tests. And claim switching tests to Lower Gornal will bring chaos to roads in Dudley.

Driving instructor Glyn Ellis-Jones said: "They aren't listening to us despite Wyre Forest District Council having put forward very credible evidence."
