A woman from Kidderminster who died after falling downstairs was today named as mother-of-two Edith Jennings.
Police have arrested a woman on suspicion of manslaughter following the tragedy. They say the death is being treated as "unexplained".
Mrs Jennings, aged 49, who lived in Offmore, Kidderminster, was today described as a "beautiful and colourful character who was devoted to her family".
She was pronounced dead at the scene after paramedics were called to a property in the Offmore area of town at 2am on Saturday.
A post mortem examination was held on Sunday but the cause of death has not yet been established and further tests are needed.
Mrs Jennings, who originally came from Ludlow, married her childhood sweetheart Robert after moving to Kidderminster and meeting him when she was 13 years old.
Her children Thomas, who lives in Kidderminster, and Carly, who is now living in Kingswinford, are both in their 20s.
In a statement released today Mrs Jenning's family paid tribute to her, describing her as "someone who would light up a room when entering".
She had no brothers or sisters but was very close to her cousins Shirley, Lisa and Rose and devoted to her one-year-old granddaughter Megan. In the statement the family said: "She had a great sense of humour and was always laughing – the life and soul of the party.
"She loved nothing more than to be surrounded by her family and wanted to spend every moment with them. Edith was a beautiful and colourful character who was loved by so many people."
The arrested woman was bailed by police until next Wednesday.
