Buskers needed for lights turn-on
Organisers of the annual Christmas lights switch-on in Stourport are appealing for buskers and entertainers to come forward.
Organisers of the annual Christmas lights switch-on in Stourport are appealing for buskers and entertainers to come forward.
They want to hear from anyone who can entertain the 5,000 to 6,000 people who annually attend the Three Kings Parade and switch-on ceremony which will this year take place between 4pm and 8pm on November 21.
Wyre Forest MP Dr Richard Taylor has agreed to switch on the lights and there will also be late opening for shops in the town during the evening.
Mr Pete Roberts, chairman of the organising committee, said: "We really need buskers and anyone who can entertain the crowds to come forward. We will pay their expenses."
Anyone interested is asked to call Mr Roberts on 01299 826930.
