There will be the chance to see a civil ceremony as well as loads of ideas for the perfect dress – with a special fashion show.

The fair will be held on Sunday October 26 from 11am – 4pm at the Gainsborough Hotel.

Sales worker Kellie Armer said: "There will be a fabulous selection of everything you need for your special day. And civil ceremonies will take place along with fashion shows."

The Wyre's breakfast presenter Rob Ison will also be there to entertain visitors.

Sarah Shell, co-owner of The Wedding Rooms with her mother Mrs Jenny Altindas, said: "This is our first wedding fayre with The Wyre and we are delighted to be providing the models and clothes and to organise the fashion show.

"We hope to help it to be a real success and people will be able to view some of more than 100 bridal outfits we have in our shop at Bewdley Road, Kidderminster."

Meanwhile a new director has been appointed to the board which runs The Wyre radio station.

Lisa Mahey, sales manager of MNA Broadcasting radio stations in Kidderminster and Shropshire for the last three years, has been appointed to the top team. She has become a director of 107.2FM The Wyre, which operates from Kidderminster, Telford Radio which operates Telford 107.4FM, Shrewsbury and Oswestry Radio, operating 105.6FM, and 107.1FM The Severn.

The companies are part of the Midland News Association, the parent company of the Express & Star and Shropshire Star.

Mrs Mahey, aged 35, who is married with two daughters and has previously held sales posts with the Express & Star, joined the MNA group in 2001 as a field sales representative before moving to Beacon Radio where she stayed for three years.

She joined MNA Broadcasting in September 2005.

Mrs Mahey said: "After selling properties for a builder for four years and being responsible for buying press and radio advertising, I decided I wanted to be on the other side of the negotiations and sell advertising."
