A 27-acre slice of prime land in Cannock has been put on the market to boost business in the area.
A 27-acre slice of prime land in Cannock has been put on the market to boost business in the area.
Cannock Chase District Council, which is part owner of the site at Mill Green in Eastern Way, hopes the sale will attract new businesses.
The Mill Green Employment Park is jointly owned by the council and Morston Assets, who pooled their respective land interests in a bid to maximise the employment opportunity at the site. The council said the scheme was an example of how the private and public sectors can work in partnership.
It is being promoted as an opportunity for developers to acquire a foothold in future employment opportunities for the district.
District councillor Mick Grocott, leader for access to skills, economic development and enterprise, said Cannock Chase had the right combination of ingredients to attract development and business growth.
"Cannock Chase district is one of the leading areas attracting new business in the county, due to good transport links, the range of facilities on offer to businesses, and good employment opportunities," he said.
"I welcome the development of this site and the improvements it will bring to our district."
The 27-acre site, near to Cannock town centre, al-ready has outline planning consent for an office/business park, a hotel, a restaurant, and a creche or nursery.
The district council is hoping the employment park's close proximity to Cannock train station, the A5, and both the M6 and M6 Toll will make it an attractive prospect for developers.
Marketing agents First City, who are handling the sale, said they were anticipating an influx of offers for the site. The property will be offered for sale by way of a two stage informal tender process. To find out more contact First City on 01902 710999.
