Actress and TV star Hannah Gordon is planning to take part in a popular Wyre Forest festival, of which she has been patron, for the second time.

Actress and TV star Hannah Gordon is planning to take part in a popular Wyre Forest festival, of which she has been patron, for the second time.

The star first found time to participate in the Bewdley Festival in 1990 and after 18 years of trying, festival organisers have again managed for find gap in her busy schedule.

She has now agreed to appear in this year's festival on October 12 at 8pm at The Ramada Hotel for an evening entitled For All Occasions.

After early theatrical experiences, Hannah began appearing on television in plays and series such as Doctor Who and even Jackanory. Her acting skills were recognised early on in her lead role in My Wife Next Door.

Hannah's performances led to the accolade of two appearances on The Morecambe and Wise Show in the 1970s. She even appeared on one of the legendary comedy duo's Christmas shows – which attracted millions of viewers every year.

Her role as Virginia Bellamy in Upstairs Downstairs established her firmly with TV viewers across the nation.

Miss Gordon's television career has included other legendary shows such as Taggart, Midsomer Murders and Heartbeat. But her most notorious part was that of Glynis, who killed Victor Meldrew in a hit-and-run accident in the final episode of One Foot in the Grave.

Hannah said she was looking forward to appearing at the event once again.

"It is a joy to be involved in the Bewdley Festival," she said. "It is dedicated to bringing performers and the audience closer together."

Her evening appearance will see her providing entertaining and amusing readings interspersed with music provided by flautist Clive Conway and pianist Christine Croshaw.
