Meanwhile floodlights at the scene of the attack are being checked to ensure they are bright enough.
The woman was attacked at about 3.30am yesterday in Morrisons car park after walking alone down Comberton Hill, Kidderminster, towards the town centre and through the underpass under the Ring Road to the car park, off Oxford Street.
She was knocked unconscious and assaulted by a stranger who grabbed her from behind. She regained consciousness before paramedics arrived but has severe injuries, bruising and grazing to her body.
Some clothing was torn and removed. Today police called for people in the Comberton Hill area and near Morrisons car park between 3am and 4am yesterday to come forward.
They want to hear from anyone who may have seen someone acting suspiciously, following the woman or who was in the area of Comberton Hill or the car park to call 08457 444888. New lights and access were recently installed. Councillor John Campion, leader of Wyre Forest District Council, said they would review lighting.
