A former Kidderminster nightspot is on the verge of being given a new lease of life it was revealed today.

Developers have shown interest in the former Luminar Leisure nightclub but are remaining tight-lipped about their plans for its potential use.

The club has stood empty for two years and speculation has been rife about its future.

But it was confirmed today talks are under way about resurrecting the nightspot at Blackwell Street's Tower Buildings.

John Andrews from estate agents Doolittle and Dalley said ideas were on the table.

He said he was hopeful a deal could be reached to occupy the building but refused to say what it would be used for.

Mr Andrews said today: "We have been negotiating for several months. No-one has signed anything as yet but we are hopeful the talks will reach a conclusion."

The venue has been known as various names in the past including Time, Flirtz, The Riverboat, Diva's and Elements.

Luminar Leisure today said it surrendered its lease three years ago.

Meanwhile, plans have also been submitted to turn the former Telephone Exchange Building along the same street into flats.

The scheme for the former telephone exchange involves keeping the front of the original building and knocking down several others at the back of the site.
