'Voices' claim in attack on cat

Beth Dorothy Amber, of Moss Road, pleaded guilty to the charge of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal at Cannock Magistrates' Court on May 19.

At her last appearance on June 30 the court heard she chased the animal around the house with a glass bottle until it collapsed in the kitchen sink. She went to her friend's house in a distressed state and admitted she had hurt the cat.

The cat had to be put down because of its injuries.

Amber was in court today for sentencing but the case was deferred pending reports. Amber is set to re-appear before magistrates at 2pm on August 11 and is on conditional bail.
