Vandals went on a wrecking spree at popular Baggeridge Country Park, damaging a tea room, lighting fires and smashing CCTV cameras.Three yobs broke into the park, near Wolverhampton, before ripping down hanging baskets and stealing the tills from the tea room. They also targeted the play area.
They were caught on CCTV cameras at 2am and took minutes to trash the tea room, stealing two tills containing around £200.
One of the men, who were believed to be in their late teens or early 20s, is thought to have cut himself as blood was left at the scene.
The tea room, visited by hundreds of families a day at weekends, was closed today.
Devastated shop owner David Daly, 37, today put the cost of the damage to his property at £2,500 and is offering a reward for information. He said: "It's heartbreaking. They were just smashing everything. I really don't know why they would do this.
"We've had a bad year as it is because the weather's not been great. It's just so hard running a business; there's always something there to kick you back. I've lost count of how many attempted break-ins we've had."
Signs at the park, on the Sedgley-Wombourne boundary, were also ripped down and picnic benches were smashed using planks.
The vandals levered a shutter on the tea rooms open before smashing their way in through a window.
A burglar alarm alerted police, and officers arrived within minutes but just missed the gang, which is believed to have fled in the direction of Gornal.
Mr Daly, who employs four people, said he was hoping to maintain a limited service today by serving people through a hatch.
Scenes of crimes officers were today looking for clues and studying camera footage which captures the faces of those involved.
