Trains hit by failure

Rail passengers travelling to London from the West Midlands faced major disruption today after a flood short-circuited the electronic signals.

Engineers working at Rugby accidentally cut through a water main in the early hours of the morning, resulting in all trains passing through being cancelled between 4am and 8.50am.

Those travelling to the West Midlands from London Euston were diverted via Marylebone Station.
