Wearing flowing gowns and sharp suits, teenagers are dressed to impress in our latest set of photos. They include students from Norton Canes High School, Cannock; Blake Valley Technology College, Hednesford; Summerhill School, Kingswinford; Heathfields Foundation Technology College, Dudley, and Ellowes Hall School, Dudley.

A total of 91 students from Norton Canes High enjoyed a three-course meal and disco at Cannock's Premier Suite, above Bar Sport in the town.

Sixteen-year-olds Tom Potts and Donna Hunt were named prom king and queen.

Headteacher Paul Fell said today it had been a wonderful event and a great chance for students to kick up their heels. He said: "The prom has become the highlight of the Year 11 social calender and this year was no exception. The outfits were sensational and the limos turned Cannock into the West End for the night."

After their meal, the students gave the head of Year 11 Maureen Sneyd a standing ovation for her help and support throughout the year.

Students Chelsea Davis and Dan Grundy were named best dressed male and female and Kyle Brennan and Emily Gibson best dancers.

"It was a superb evening," Mr Fell added. "Everyone had a fantastic time."

Year 11 leavers at Summerhill School, in Kingswinford, held their prom at Blakelands Country House, in Bobbington.

Scores of Year 11 students from the Lodge Lane school attended the prom in their finest attire, including head boy and girl Wesley Biggs and Emma Hadley.

Darren Danks, a designer and ICT technician at the school, said today it had been a brilliant event and the youngsters had had the "time of their lives".

Since the launch of its prom series, the Express & Star has been inundated with photographs of smiling students in fancy dresses and tuxedos.

And teenagers from Dudley's Blake Valley Technology College and Heathfields Foundation Technology College also poured into limousines and donned their gladrags for the glittering events, stunning send-offs for their times at secondary school.
