Two of the victims, both aged 19, were passengers in a car which is believed to have been overtaking another when it left the A451 Dunley Road, near Stourport, yesterday.

One, from Brierley Hill, was confirmed dead on arrival at hospital while the other, from Quarry Bank, was taken to Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham where he died at about midnight.

The driver, a 20-year-old man, from Stourbridge, suffered serious chest injuries in the crash, which involved two Volkswagen Golfs at around 3.20pm.

A passenger in the rear, an 18-year-old man from Netherton, was taken to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital but discharged after treatment.

The driver of the other car, an 18-year-old man from Brierley Hill, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Elsewhere, a 19-year-old motorist from Wolverhampton died on a busy dual carriageway near Wombourne.

Members of the public dashed to the aid of the driver, but he died later in hospital.
