A Staffordshire bank is planning to organise a series of money management seminars to offer help and advice to people who are concerned about their financial future.

The turmoil enveloping the UK as the credit crisis worsens has prompted Moneyway, which has a branch in Wolverhampton Road, Cannock, to offer seminars to reassure people. Chief executive Gary Jennison said people needed sensible advice rather than reminders and predictions about how serious the situation could become.

The seminars will tackle a series of real-life concerns raised by the public, and will take place at a number of venues in the Midlands.

He said: "Every day, the news brings more doom and gloom – people being refused credit, unable to get mortgages, and the Government having to bail out banks.

"A Credit Action report published earlier this month revealed that 84 per cent of the population are worried about their finances, and the ongoing reports are not helping them sleep at night.

"What people need is reassurance and practical advice, and we are perfectly placed to offer that.

"We have a proven track record in helping people free themselves from debt, and in helping people manage their money efficiently, and we feel it's time that everyone, regardless of whether or not they are Moneyway customers, had the advantage of that expertise," he said.

Moneyway has a range of products that offer customers the best solutions to their concerns including Moneyfreedom, an FSA-regulated debt management service.

Mr Jennison said: "There is no denying that these are worrying times, but people should not get too despondent; it just calls for a common sense approach.

"These seminars will give the public an opportunity to raise their concerns and be assured of confidential, simple and transparent advice with the emphasis on value for money and peace of mind."

Anyone with issues they would like to be tackled at the seminars can email Moneyway at seminars@money way.co.uk or write to: Finance Focus Groups, Moneyway, One Arleston Way, Solihull, B90 4LH.

Dates and venues are being finalised and will be confirmed in May.
