Not content with a drab Daimler, a regular Roller or a mundane Merc, the newly-weds opted for the 1960 Commer flatbed wagon as their transport on the big day.
But the 48-year-old truck was not rented just for the occasion. Instead, it has been owned by David's family for generations and was lovingly restored by him – and his wife – just in time for Saturday's wedding at the Moat House in Acton Trussell.
David currently runs Eccleshall flour mill CD Howell and Son with his father Charles. However, the family business, which stretches back six generations, used to run a fleet of HGVs, which is where David's passion for vintage vehicles started out.
The 28-year-old said: "We carried on keeping them for shows and we've just done this one up to show – we got it roadworthy just last week."
