A performance in Staffordshire by comedian Paddy McGuinness has sold out and a waiting list is now in place because demand for tickets was so high. He is due to take to the stage at the Prince of Wales Centre in Church Street.
The event is on September 7 and tickets have now sold out. The comedian, one half of nightclub duo Max and Paddy from television comedy Phoenix Nights, will perform his new touring show Plus You! Live. The Bolton-born star's career started in 1999 but it wasn't until Phoenix Nights that he and fellow Bolton lad Peter Kay achieved true cult star status.
Two-thirds of tickets for a concert by X Factor runners-up Journey South, brothers Carl and Andy Pemberton, have also been sold and theatre bosses expect it to be a sell-out.
Richard Kay, theatre manager, said: "It is fantastic news for us to get such well-known names in Cannock and we knew tickets would sell quickly.
"We've got a packed programme and it is attracting a lot of interest from people."
He said efforts had been made to book another Paddy McGuinness date but it had not proved possible.
The Searchers, one of the biggest bands of the 1960s, will also return on September 28 after performing in the town last year.
Other performers added to the theatre's programme include The Drifters on October 22 and Forever In Blue Jeans on November 8.
Tickets have also gone on sale for this year's December pantomime, Aladdin, and are selling well with prices fixed at last year's rates.
Comedians Jo Caulfield, Brendan Riley, Phil Walker and Manuel Martinez will take to the stage on Thursday with Comedy Shop. Tickets cost £8.
Hugh Cornwell, guitarist, signer and songwriter in The Stranglers, will be at the theatre on Friday as part of his acoustic tour.
Saturday will see In Dreams staged at the theatre with Johnny Curtiss taking on the role of Roy Orbison. Tickets cost £14.
Tickets for all shows are available from the box office on 01543 578762.
