Some of the greatest stars have graced the stage over seven decades.

The Civic is 70 years old on May 12 and bosses want fans to play their part in honouring the region's stars as singers, musicians and artists on the wall being created at the North Street venue.

Any stars with links to the Black Country, whether they were born here or studied here, may be eligible for a place on the wall.

The region has produced Walsall-born Noddy Holder, frontman of top 70s and 80s band Slade, Led Zeppelin star Robert Plant, who grew up in Halesowen, Dudley comedian Lenny Henry and award-winning Smethwick actress Julie Walters.

Civic Hall manager Mark Blackstock said today: "It's about time the Black Country shouted out about the huge wealth of entertainment talent it has produced. It's a Black Country trait being humble but we have spent too long hiding our light under a bushel."

Who do you think should be honoured?

Who do YOU think should be on the Civic's Wall of Fame? Which local star should have their name honoured in the Black Country's biggest venue for years to come?

You can pick a musician, artist, actor, comedian – anyone whose home-grown talent deserves recognising.

70 Years of The CivicAs well as telling us why you think your star is worth being honoured on the Wall of Fame, we want to hear YOUR memories and see YOUR pictures of treasured times at the Civic over the years.

Whether you were at an unforgettable concert, rolling in the aisles at a classic comedy show, are still reminiscing about a fabulous event from years ago or perhaps even met your partner at a tea dance, the fans are what makes the Civic such a favourite among entertainers and we want to hear from you.
