An extension has been added to the Museum of Cannock Chase since it closed last September.

Visitors will be welcomed through the doors of the Valley Road museum from 11am and will be able to see its new local history gallery and extended gift shop.

Work has been carried out as part of the £1.5 million Chase Heritage Trail project and includes a new reception area, tourist information area and a gallery for temporary displays.

Building work on the extension cost £100,000 and was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund with the refit costing £175,000.

Children's art activities are planned during Easter with collages on March 26, miniature gardens on March 27 and rabbit bookmarks on March 28.
