Museum merger could be glass act!
An "iconic" new tourist attraction aimed at bringing Dudley's glass museums together under one roof may be built to show off historic collections.

Most of the area's world famous glass collections remain hidden in storage because of a lack of space to exhibit them. Early talks have started on merging council-run museums such as Wordsley's Red House Glass Cone and Broadfield House Museum, Kingswinford, to create a bigger site for all collections to be put on public display.
A study into potential sites has started and the Red House Glass Cone site may expand or a new site be built.
Dudley Council cabinet member for leisure and culture, Councillor Charles Fraser-Macnamara, said: "At the moment we are doing well if we get 20 per cent of the region's glass history on display.
"We need more exhibition space so we can get more of the collections on display and bring more people into the area to see it."
He said a study was being carried out to see if Broadfield House should move to the Red House Glass Cone site or whether both should be re-located to a new site.
Councillor Tim Crumpton added: "This would be an iconic site."
