Mini-moto crackdown crushes 60 bikes
More than 60 mini-motos which were dangerous or being driven illegally have been seized and crushed in the Wyre Forest district in a major crackdown.

Wyre Forest District Council and West Mercia Police have joined forces to target the menace and owners could face maximum fines of £1,000.
Mini-mopeds and go-peds can only be used on private land with the permission of the owner. Police are now targeting areas suffering most nuisance from the noisy machines such as on the Rifle Range Estate and at Birchen Coppice.
Councillor Nathan Desmond, Wyre Forest District Council's cabinet member for community and leisure services, said: "People using mini-motos, or parents persuaded to buy them for their children, don't realise they are illegal in a public place.
"Local feedback tells us mini-motos are causing real problems. They can reach speed of up to 35mph."
Police Commander Chief Inspector Jim Baker said: "The fact is that if these machines are used on a road or ridden in a public place they need to be registered, taxed, insured and the rider needs to have a licence for that type of motorbike."
