For the last blog of the year, it's only right and proper to do the Completely Unofficial (and disapproved) Walsall F.C. Awards of 2007, writes Walsall blogger Mark Jones.

The Darren Byfield 'This never happens to us' Goal of the Season Award –

1st. Dean Keates (you know which goal)

2nd. = Kevin Harper and Trevor Benjamin at Notts County

3rd. Darren Wrack's equaliser at the MK Scabs. I thought that was the day everything was falling apart and I'd spent most of the second half contemplating if we could turn things round in time for the play-offs.

The Man City 'Bottled it right at the death' Award – Hartlepool United (you were worthy opponents though, monkey boys)

The Tom Bennett 'Whatever else he does, he's lifted a trophy for the Saddlers' Award – Michael Dobson

The Jimmy Walker 'Safe pair of hands' Award – Clayton Ince

The Siggi Eyjolfsson 'Score the goal that clinches promotion then leave quietly out the back' Award - Trevor Benjamin

The Kevin Harper 'Make an impact on loan but disappear when it comes to signing permanently' Award – Kevin Harper

The Paul Hall 'Player we sign when we can't get Kevin Harper' Award – err … Paul Hall

The Paul Simpson 'Can anyone actually remember anything he did during his loan spell?' Award – Kevin Thingy

The Simon Osborn 'Most inexplicably hyped-up signing who failed totally and utterly to deliver' Award – Danny Sonner

The Zigor Aranalde 'Quick start the car before he changes his mind' Going Off in a Huff Award – Chris Westward

The Chris Marsh 'Zero to hero' Award – Rhys Weston (surely it was a different player in August and September?)

The Martin Butler 'That took a bit of bottle to come back' Award – Michael Ricketts

The Charlie Ntamark 'Smile nicely and people might not notice I'm not that good' Award – Eddy 'Mr. Sunshine'Sonko

The Pierre Essers 'You wait ages for international clearance and then he turns out to be rubbish' Award – Per Ciderquest

The Andy Peterson 'Surely someone must've watched him play first' Award – Carlos the Canary

The Gisbert Bos 'Pointless foreign signing turning out for the reserves' Award – Junior Mawete

The Mick Halsall 'Ok, he's a Scouser but he's one of us' Award – Shared jointly between Scott Dann, Ant Gerrard and Dan Fox.

The Rod McDonald Anger Management Award – Ishmel Demontagnac (despite a late entry from Dan Fox for getting himself sent off on Boxing Day)

The KRW 'The fans will just have to put up with it' Big Decision Award –

1st. Whoever approved the design for the home kit

2nd.Whoever approved the design for the away kit

3rd. Whoever approved the design for the third kit

4th. Whoever agreed to rescheduling the Yeovil match for January 8th.

The Jeffrey 'It ain't broke but I'll fix it anyway' Award – The designers of the new badge

The WM 'Sack the researchers' Award – Shared jointly between WM and the E&S – look we went 10 away games unbeaten LAST season, ok?

The Dario Gradi 'Bad Grace' Award – Denis Wise

The Colin Lee 'Football Genius' Management Award –

1st. Steve McClaren

2nd. Sam 'Tribunal' Allardyce

The Merse Bad Boy Award – Chris Marsh (read his book)

The What Goes Around Comes Around Award – The Rotherham fans we saw at the services coming back from Swindon ('Going Down, Going Down' indeed)

The Winding-Up Opposition Fans on the Message Board Award –
