Danielle will star in musical

Talented Kidderminster schoolgirl Danielle Foster is celebrating after being chosen as an understudy for one of the star parts in Santa Claus The Musical.

Danielle, aged 10, will be an understudy for the role of Anna and has been given the chance to play the part during afternoon and evening performances at Birmingham's Alexandra Theatre on December 27.

She will also be part of the ensemble chorus of children in the production, which stars Anita Dobson as the wicked Ice Queen and Roy Barraclough as Santa Claus.

Danielle, a pupil at Heronswood Primary School at Spennells, Kidderminster, has been attending the Betty Fox Stage School for two years. She said today: "I was so excited that I jumped up and down when I heard. I feel I have made my family proud of me."

Mother Tracey, 36, said: "We are over the moon."
