A man's body has been discovered at a house in Stourbridge sparking a major police probe.
Scenes of crimes officers sealed off the house and a tent for forensic investigations has been erected alongside a gully leading to the back of the house.
A van has also been taken away from outside the house by police, neighbours say.
Officers were called to the address in Stepping Stones at about 1.30pm yesterday.
The man, believed to be in his 20s, has not been named and officers have not yet established how he died but today they confirmed that they were treating the death as "suspicious".
The house remained sealed off this afternoon, more than 24 hours after officers first arrived, as the investigation continued.
Neighbours said they did not know the name of the man but believed he was one of six men to live there.
Officers had knocked on their doors asking them for any information about the property or its owners. They also said a van had been removed from the address.
A neighbour, who did not wish to be named, said: "We have asked the police what has happened but all they will say is there has been an incident and nothing else.
"All I know is officers arrived on the scene yesterday afternoon and cordoned off the house. We also know a body was discovered there.
"It is not knowing what is going on which is the most worrying thing for everyone in the street. However, the police have been here for a very long time now."
West Midlands Police spokesman Catherine Preece confirmed a body was found at the address. "A post-mortem is being carried out today to establish the cause of death," she said. "The matter is being treated as suspicious until the cause of death has been confirmed."
