Trouble flared in Wolverhampton city centre this afternoon as football fans clashed.

Travelling supporters from Bristol City were involved in a brawl in Lichfield Street.

The trouble was close to the Moon Under Water and Rothwells pubs, where a number of Bristol supporters had been rounded up by police and appeared to be under arrest.

Both pubs were taped off and closed this afternoon and a large window at Rothwells had been smashed.

West Midlands Police helicopter was being used by officers to monitor the situation. Bristol City were expected to bring almost 3,000 fans to Molineux for today's game.
