Medical secretary Hilary Williams is in the running to become a national fitness champ – and has no intention of slowing down until she is at least 95 years old.
Hilary, aged 61, has been an exercise enthusiast for 25 years and entered two Tough Guy challenges in 2003 and 2005 and numerous races. Now she has won through to the national finals of a gym company's achievement awards.
In April Hilary also achieved a dream and ran the London Marathon with her 33-year-old daughter, Lisa.
Hilary has been a member of Fitness First Kidderminster for three years and uses the classes to maintain enviable levels of fitness. Her personal trainer Luke Richards is key to keeping her motivated. She said: "My goal is to maintain my energy and fitness to keep racing and enjoying life until I'm at least 95."
Now there is no stopping Hilary, who also does weight training, attends Boxercise, Bootcamp, dance and Pilates classes. Hilary added: "Joining the gym four years ago was the best thing I have done."
The Fitness First New You Achievement Awards were launched in 2005 to recognise and celebrate the health and fitness of club members and staff.
