A morning train service between Hednesford, Cannock, Walsall and Birmingham New Street has been reinstated because of demand from passengers.
Commuters had called for an improvement in services and it is hoped the changes, which came into effect today, will be a step in the right direction and ease congestion on the train which leaves Walsall at 8am.
From today, the 7.36am train leaving Hednesford will call at Cannock, Walsall and Tame Bridge Parkway before arriving at Birmingham New Street at 8.23am.
Central Trains' managing director Steve Banaghan said: "The views and suggestions of our passengers are an important factor in developing our timetable.
"I am pleased that we have been able to respond positively to passenger feedback and reinstate this service."
Councillor Gary Clarke, chairman of Centro-WMPTA, the region's passenger transport authority, said: "The local rail network is a real success story, experiencing a 55 per cent increase in passengers over the last decade.
"These extra services reflect the growing popularity of the train and show how Central Trains and Centro-WMPTA are putting passengers first."
