Five homes around Wolverhampton were raided today by police as the net closed in on a key suspect wanted over the killing of Bilston teenager Shane Owoo.
The senior detective leading the inquiry this afternoon told the Express & Star he was confident Marvin Walker would be found as plans for a reward of up to £5,000 for information were revealed.
Det Supt Mick Treble, head of the major investigation unit, said: "He will definitely be brought into custody, either by his own volition or by our actions.
"We are minimising where he can turn and have raided five homes in the Wolverhampton area today." He added Walker's only choice was to hand himself in.
The reward, which would be made through Crimestoppers, is being planned in an effort to encourage more people in the community to come forward.
Today Mr Treble also warned that anyone sheltering 21-year-old Walker, who also goes by the street name Shotty, would face prosecution.
He said: "By naming him in the media, when we find out who those individuals are, they are going to struggle to say that they didn't know he was wanted."
Two men have already been remanded in custody charged with the manslaughter of Shane, of Addison Place, Bilston, who drowned after allegedly being forced into The Lunt pool at the end of September and then pelted with stones.
Tobias Davies, aged 20, of Frost Street, Ettinghshall, and Christopher Lewis, 22, from east Wolverhampton, have been remanded in custody until January 2 when they will appear before Wolverhampton Crown Court charged with manslaughter.
Davies today failed in his bid to get bail at Birmingham Crown Court.
Information can be passed to West Midlands Police on 0845 113 5000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
