Calls on street drinking
Publicans in Kidderminster today appealed to Wyre Forest MP Dr Richard Taylor and police chiefs to back calls for a booze-free zone to crack down on the number of people drinking on the streets.

They have been campaigning for the ban on alcohol on the streets for the past nine years. However, they have been angered that although these have been introduced in Stourport and Bewdley there is still no sign of one for Kidderminster.
Chairman of the Kidderminster Licensee Association Kate Moore said: "It is unfair that pubs are continually blamed for anti-social behaviour and under-age drinking.
Chief Inspector Jim Baker, of Kidderminster Police, said: "Alcohol restriction zones have been of benefit."
Licensees have now invited Dr Richard Taylor MP, Chief Inspector Jim Baker and Brian Kent, from Wyre Forest District Council licensing department, to a meeting at the Railway Bell on September 26.
